Small Business, Big Moves!
Twin Oaks Ceramics Collective has attended a total of five events to sell our ceramics inventory. First, we attended a flea market in Crozet, Virginia. Since then, we have attended the Charlottesville City Market. On October 4th and December 6th we are vendoring at Forest Green Farm in Louisa. October 11th, we will be at the Charlottesville City Market. On the 12th, you’ll see us at the Swap Meet RVA. We will be at the Carytown Farmer's Market on October 19th and 26th.
We have had a lot of fun at these markets. They are a fantastic opportunity to get off the farm, make new connections, and even purchase a special treat. Market goers love our soup bowl mugs and anything that resembles an animal. There were many ceramic animals in our donation from Cliff. The most beloved were the three piggy banks with cork mouths. In addition, we were given two cat figures, sixteen geese, a small rabbit, two crawdad bowls, and many mugs and bowls with crab and fish emblems.
We are also making slow but steady progress retrofitting “Oz” to be a suitable pottery studio. Electricity and plumbing work have been done by current and ex members alike. We are continuing our education in preparation for making our own ceramics.
